WESTPAC Bank-PNG Ltd and Australia’s Agency for International Development (AusAID) have joined hands to deliver money management and business skills training across the country.
AusAID and Westpac are working together to deliver financial literacy and business development training within communities across PNG.
In a statement, Westpac said it was well placed to provide communities with the necessary skills training to contribute towards the partnership’s objective – to increase the capacity of local communities to participate in the formal private sector.
It said the partnership further strengthened Westpac’s local community ties and would deliver a number of free money management and business development workshops around PNG.
The financial literacy component would be delivered through Westpac’s “financial first steps”, a three-hour workshop which introduces participants to a range of topics from budgeting and saving and to credit cards, among many others.
