Firm donates life jackets

 LOCAL fishing company High Energy announced its support of maritime safety in the country last Friday when it donated K10,000 worth of life jackets to the National Maritime Safety Authority. 

Authority managing director Chris Rupen said the donation of the jackets had strengthened the support for maritime safety, was the authority’s number priority agenda. 

Rupen said apart from its training programmes and awareness initiatives in Port Moresby and the coastal provinces and districts the type two life jackets would be distributed to needy areas. 

“These life jackets will be well utilised to save lives in the long run,” he said. 

“Safety is a big challenge the authority is pursuing through awareness and other programmes. 

“We would like to expand and improve on our approaches and this thoughtful assistance will certainly support our endeavour.”
