THE annual Morobe Agricultural Show is expected to be bigger, with bookings for stalls and traditional dancing already full, show society president Mike Quinn says.

The event is on Oct 19-20.

Quinn said 56 groups from all over the country had registered. Another four were expected to register before the opening, bringing the number to 60.

He said the Ahi Foundation, through Riback Stevedores, had joined other companies to make the show a success.

Preparations by the show committee are in the final stages. One of the main attractions – the fireworks – has been moved from Saturday night to Friday night.

The venue has been changed from the showground to Mt Lunaman, in Top Town.

Quinn said fireworks would be synchronised to music on a radio station so that more people could be part of it.

Morobe Governor Kelly Naru will be accorded a guard of honour the Defence Force on Sunday by.

The spectacular motorbike stunt riders from Australia, and the Miss Morobe quest, will be back to provide entertainment.

Quinn said the annual show cost about K1 million, with much of the funding coming from businesses.
