EIGHTEEN pioneers who were awarded  Langley scholarships early this year graduated from the development programme last week.

The 18 human resources management graduates were the last standing from the 20 who were awarded the scholarships to take part in three training courses facilitated by the Papua New Guinea Human Resources Institute and sponsored by Air Energi Pacific.

They are equipped with training on mentoring and secondments, which saw them completing certificates in levels 1 and 2 in human resource management, as well as a certificate in HR law practices in PNG.

The training moulded them and prepared them to have hands on experience of what was there for them in the employees’ world.

Of the 18, 15 have been hired, while three are yet to secure permanent employment.

Air Energi training and marketing manager, Tara Taylor, who mentored the graduates since the beginning, congratulated them on their achievement and urged them to continue to strive to reach the top.

She said a most important trait that the graduates developed was communication.

“Some have learnt the head way and others have embraced it, demonstrating that they can be confident in sharing ideas, identifying problems and dealing with personal challenges.

“They have demonstrated their commitment, hard work, and perseverance throughout the year, facing many challenges not just with the training and work experience but personal challenges like public speaking, social networking and day-to-day challenges that living in PNG can bring,” she said.
