PAPUA New Guinea hosting the 2018 APEC meeting strongly demonstrates the trust and confidence the world has in the leadership of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, Enga Governor Peter Ipatas says.
Ipatas, leader of the People’s Party, accompanied O’Neill and his delegation to the recent APEC meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
“It is a great bonus and a privilege for the people of Papua New Guinea to showcase to the world that we are capable and mature to host such international meetings of higher magnitude and importance,” Ipatas said
He acknowledged and praised O’Neill for showing the world that Papua New Guinea was capable of hosting the next APEC meeting.
He thanked leaders of the 21-member countries, in particular New Zealand and Indonesia, for supporting PNG all the way.
He congratulated Treasurer Don Polye on his elevation as the chairman of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
