LANDOWNERS of the Woodlark exploration project in Milne Bay are taking up skills course in business operation, Mineral Resource Authority (MRA) said.

The 32 participants are attending a “start your business” (SYB) workshop on Woodlark Island sponsored by the  MRA.

MRA had engaged the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) to handle the two-week training on how to successfully start up and operate small-scale businesses such as retail stores and poultry farms.

The workshop participants included the eight Woodlark Project Landowner Association officers, women and youths.

The SYB programme would help entrepreneurs evaluate the viability of their business ideas and provide them the business know-how.

The training covered topics like costing and pricing, marketing and direct and indirect costs.
