Human resource a priority for Orimyo

HUMAN resources development for Henganofi district, Eastern Highlands province, remains one of the top priorities of Henganofi MP Ferao Orimyo.
“Human resources development must advance to a higher level to ensure growth and progress for the district,” Mr Orimyo said when presenting K100,000 to the Henganofi Secondary School for a new design and technology building.
“We are redirecting our priority in education to help schools develop the necessary infrastructures to create conducive environments for learning,” he said.
He told the school’s head teacher, Richard Uyassi, that the money was released a little late because the Office of Rural Development (ORD) required the various documentation before the money could be released.
Mr Orimyo said in his attempts to raise human resources development in the district, much emphasis would be placed on developing school infrastructures and provision of materials.
“We will give a lot of money to primary and elementary schools. School management boards must manage the money wisely to get maximum results.”
As a former head teacher, Mr Orimyo knows where to invest to get the best to improve the human resources development index.
Mr Uyassi, upon receiving the money, became emotional and shed tears of joy saying that the K100,000 for the school was the single biggest assistance he ever received.
“I have a plan to build a three-storey classroom but the provincial government had no money to help.
“We won’t let you down as Henganofi Secondary is a well-managed school which had been performing well academically over the years.
“We will put the money to good use to build the infrastructure,” he said.
Henganofi district treasurer Vito Wartovo, Foxy Siane and members of Henganofi district joint district budget and priority committee witnessed the cheque presentation in Numutoka Lodge outside Goroka town last Friday.
