A POLICE station commander and nine officers were attacked at Raimbrumin, in West Sepik, last Wednesday.

They were attacked while escorting 25 crime suspects to Aitape.

Provincial Police Commander Robert Gesa said one officer was injured and a police gun was damaged during the attack.

He will lead a police team to the area to arrest the attackers who are from the same village.

“I will go into the area with re-enforcement,” he said.

He said the bad road and adverse weather conditions were delaying the response of police in Vanimo up the coast.

Meanwhile, a senior police constable has been summoned to appear in the Vanimo district court for allegedly assaulting a girl and a probation police officer.
