‘Ave Maria’ prayer has biblical meaning

 CONFUSED of Wewak has made a big issue without pointing out what was wrong about the “Ave Maria” prayer (The National, Dec 21).

I do say the Rosary prayer and “Ave Maria” is a prayer I use. 

I immediately prayed the Hail Mary prayer in both English and Tokpisin to see where the error was biblically. 

My quick response after the prayer was Jesus Christ is Son of God and is God of second person in the Holy Trinity of God. He is the God Son.

My answer was even more affirmed when I checked the daily readings for Monday, December 21. 

The greetings of Elizabeth when her cousin Mary visited her in Gospel of Luke (Luke 1: 39 – 45) has the answer that Confused of Wewak might wish to check. 

Jesus is God so Mary is Mother of God.
