A GROUP of 29 students have graduated from a new training school in East New Britain.
The Tamavatur Investment Ltd training school started a few months ago.
The company was formed to bring economic development to the rural population and create employment for youths.
The company has a contract with Telikom PNG Ltd to provide security at its repeater station at Tamavatur and it is its first line of business since the company commenced in 2008.
Apart from operating a security service and running the training school, it also received a community service package from Telikom which gave the company an opportunity to also establish a clinic.
Six of the 29 graduating students were from Gasmata-Kandrian in West New Britain.
Graduate Martin Monaria from Kandrian said they had learnt a lot inside three weeks and were thankful to the school.
“Although East New Britain is developed, many people here still do not know how to
enjoy modern technology,” he said.
