33 Wau villagers learn management skills

THIRTY-three villagers from Wau, Morobe, became the fifth group to benefit from a partnership programme aimed at improving their basic business management skills as local entrepreneurs.
Under the Morobe Mining Joint Ventures community and regional development programme the 24 men and nine women in the group completed a two-week training session funded by Hidden Valley Gold mine and facilitated by the Small Business Development Corporation.
In the Start Your Business programme, participants from Kuembu, Kaisenik, and Wandumi villages were put through a series of theory sessions covering assessing business opportunities and developing business planning.
Similar training sessions were conducted for Mumeng Inland Fish Farmers Cooperative in Timini and Sambio villages, another two for Biangai Coffee Farmers Cooperative in Biawen and Kwembu villages and one for Lower Watut Cocoa Farmers Cooperative in Tsilitsili village.
