FORTY-nine Community Health Workers have graduated with certificates on Friday at Tinsley in Baiyer, Western highlands.
Among the graduates, there were 37 were female and 12 males.
The 49 community health workers (CHWs) had completed two years training programme.
This is the ninth graduation of the Baptist Mission CHW training school since its establishment in 1959.
The school have produced many health workers since 1959 with some who have retired while others were still in the work force.
Speaking at the graduation, Dr Madison Dat, the public health director of Western Highlands health authority, commended the 49 CHWs for their patients to complete the training.
Dat said choosing to become a health worker was a challenging career because they would save lives.
“You have made it through and I’m proud that you have sacrificed and now graduating with certificates,” he said.
Dat said the graduation would boost health workers working at rural health facilities.
