KAIRUKU-Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo has urged councillors in his electorate to submit project plans aimed at improving basic services to his office to consider for funding.
Speaking during the opening of Mamumanu Elementary School double storey classroom, Isoaimo said there was a problem in the rollout of the District Services Improvement (DSIP) funds from the Government.
“We are ready to help but funding of the DSIP funds from the Government is a problem at the moment to rollout to most of the district projects.”
He said ward councillors must plan for other development projects such as roads, health services and water and sanitation and submit the ward profiles to his office for the district development authority to consider for funding.
The double classroom worth K50,000 was funded through the Hiri LLG’s service improvement funds under the education sector.
Isoaimo also encouraged the students to work hard and achieve good results saying that was their obligation towards their parents and the community. Hiri LLG president Haoda Roger said the completion of the classroom was an example of funds being used wisely by the ward councillors
“We have a double classroom today for Manumanu Elementary School because the ward councillors used the money for the right purposes,” Roger said.
Ward seven councillor, Ravu Raho acknowledged Isoaimo for attending to the opening to address community development issues faced by Manumanu village.
