19 officer cadets pass out of academy

DEFENCE Force Commander Brigadier-general Gibert Toropo has congratulated the final group of 19 cadets who graduated from its academy in Lae.
“We are here as the final phase of celebration of the 19 officer cadets who has just joined the PNGDF and we are here to commemorate and celebrate that achievement,” Toropo said.
He said the force faced many challenges.
“And as one of the Government agencies, it is very challenging (because we have) scare resources in finance, scare resources in human capacity.
“So this is a great achievement not only for the 19 officers but for everyone in the army and nation.
“We are here to celebrate the future leaders of this great institution. My message to the 19 officers that your journey begins today. Tomorrow you will meet the challenges ahead of you,” Toropo said.
He told the 19 that they would have men and women under them who would be depending on them for leadership, direction, mentoring, training and guidance.
