Lae basketballers aiming to make impression

THE Lae select side is hard at training for a proposed tournament slated for Jan 21-23 at the Sir John Guise Stadium (SJGS) in Port Moresby.
Currently, the Papuan Blacks are in training for a tournament in Cairns, Australia, next year and it was proposed that Lae-based players participate in next month’s tournament for a chance to be included on the Cairns-bound trip as well.
Meanwhile, his weekend’s matches in the nation’s capital will be played at the SJGS indoor complex, which is shaping to be an awesome weekend of basketball which will also include a slam-dunk competition and a three-point shoot-out.
Port Moresby will host the inaugural POM vs Lae concept hoping that through the success of this more invitational matches can be played by other centres as well.
