LAE Biscuit Company has extended its wings over to the Port Moresby rugby league grounds sponsoring Kone Tigers club.
National marketing manager Justus Rapula presented a cheque for K10,000 and two sets of uniforms worth K20,000 to Kone Tigers executive and former Masta Mak Rangers franchise owner Kelly Aiyok yesterday.
Rapula said that it was the company’s ongoing commitment to sports, establishing relationships not only with Kone Tigers alone but the Port Moresby community and throughout the country.
“Through the Snax brand, the company spreads its wings as a leading corporate citizen to assist communities whenever possible,” Rapula said.
“It is not by coincidence the company decided to give assistance in cash and kind but because both Snax Lae Tigers and Kone Tigers share the same name and colours, we want to build on that relationship,” he said.
“It’s amazing to see Lae Biscuit Company investing in sports especially in rugby league and that reflects their concern as corporate citizens for the community,” Aiyok said.
He said other government and corporate citizens also needed to keep investing in youths through sports to ensure they were not only pre-occupied with sports but to instill skills and knowledge and discipline them to become productive citizens.
While acknowledging the company management and staff for the support, Aiyok said the Lae Tigers cheer leaders would also be flown over to Port Moresby for this Saturday’s round four clash against Gulf Isapeas.
