Father selling fish to send daughters to school

Papua

Fisherman Andrew Kopi, from Kaparoko village in the Central, will be able pay for his two daughters education this year because he was able to make enough money from his catch.
“Fishing is the only source of income to send my children to school,” Kopi said while selling his fish at the Koki fish market last week.
Kopi’s daughters, Talitha and Vavine, will be doing grades eight and six this year at the Kaparoko Primary School.
His daily earnings depend on how he catches and the competition from other fishermen at the market but on average he makes around K300 to K400 daily.
He comes to market three to four times a week.
