CAN the agriculture and livestock minister direct his officers to advertise for the managing director’s position in NAQIA because the three-year tenure of current managing director expires on July 28?
The NAQIA management and board have not acted accordingly to give others the opportunity to apply for that post.
Doesn’t the NAQIA Act say that the position must be advertised three months prior to the expiry of the three-year tenure and that any reappointment shall undergo the same process of appointment?
NAQIA needs a well-trained and highly technical candidate with experience in management skills to lead the institution.
Above all, any appointment must be on merit, in an open and transparent manner, and strictly in accordance with the act.
