THE International Training Institute (ITI) Mt Hagen campus graduated 89 students in its first graduation ceremony last Friday.
Managing director Sentheyval Senthil Kumaran congratulated the graduands for successfully completing their studies.
“You are the pioneer graduates. Thank you for selecting ITI Mt Hagen campus and your time here in the last one and two years has not been a waste,” Kumaran said. The students were conferred with certificates in accounting, human resource management and computing.
Most of the students who graduated were grade 10 and 12 leavers, while others were working professionals who needed to upgrade their skills and enhance their credentials.
The graduation theme was ‘Knowledge is not information, it’s transformation’, which reminded the graduates to utilise what they had learnt. “We believe that with the knowledge that you were imparted with, you will help to transform this nation,” he said.
Kumaran also stated that it has been 19 years since the institute was established and he outlined some of its development aims.
“In the near future, ITI will create a pathway for our certificate and diploma programmes to be developed into degree programmes for our students,” Kumaran said.
