NAMALU Coffee, a Goroka-based coffee roaster, will promote Papua New Guinea coffee products at a fine foods show in New Zealand next week.
Namalu Coffee director Jack Amos Jnr and wife Elaine Amos were happy for the opportunity to travel to New Zealand for the second time this year.
“The Fine Food New Zealand show would be one of the biggest shows in New Zealand that attracts a lot of international exhibitions. We are lucky to be chosen to represent Papua New Guinea,” Amos said.
He said PNG coffee products and its specialty brands would be displayed and promoted to the international community at their stall.
“We attended the 2018 Pacific Cup Festival in New Zealand in March,” Amos said.
Our travel back to Fine Food New Zealand show will be the second this year.
“We will do our best to showcase the unique special coffee PNG has to offer the World coffee drinkers.”
He thanked Investment Promotion Authority for opening up markets and helping them to attend important festivals and shows in New Zealand.
“What IPA is focusing on is to grow the economy by supporting us to attend these important international trade and investment shows and festivals,” Amos said.
Meanwhile, Namalu Coffee has roasted and packaged a special coffee for Apec.
It is labelled APEC 2018 Papua New Guinea.
The Apec Summit is in Port Moresby in November.
The coffee pack was among the gift packs presented to Apec delegates in Goroka in March.
“Our specially roasted coffee was accepted to be showcased by Apec 2018 as an opportunity to promote Small to Medium Enterprises (SME),” Elaine said.
Namalu Coffee also roasted and packaged six other special flavours that would be presented to Apec participants in gift packs.
The other coffee flavours are Blue Mountain medium roast, expresso dark roast, Irish cream-flavoured medium/light roast, caramel-flavoured medium light roast, vanilla hazelnut medium/light roast and coconut-flavoured medium light roast.
