Exploit your potential

Letters

TOO many times we let external results dictate our future.
You were born original, do not die a copy. The reason why you were born into Papua New Guinea is because you have something to contribute to this country.
It is sad that we have a lot of employees than employers. It is sad that we are importing more goods than exporting. It is sad that as a country, many of us are not fully using their God-given potential.
Potential is what you can do, but have not yet done. Potential is what you can be, but have not yet become. You are the greatest asset of this country.
Engineering and medical school are not the only two prestigious courses to take. We also need inventors, astronauts, actors, and all kinds of talent to be explored and exploited. Let us not limit ourselves as we are unlimited human beings.
You can go as far as your mind lets you.
It also saddens me that many students who have not been selected to enter higher institutions just give up.
If you are in this category, never forget these people I’ll tell you about.
Mark Zuckerberg is a university dropout; today, he employs the best students in all the best universities in the world to work for him at the company he owns, Facebook.
Henry Ford was a high school dropout, but he is the reason why you have a car to drive today.
Finally, Wilbur and Orville Wright never made it to university, but today we enjoy flying because they built the first aircraft.
What excuse do you have? Whether you are in school or you are out of school, you have a responsibility to be somebody to this country. Will you give up or keep going? The choice is yours.
