THE Bank South Pacific branch in West Goroka, Eastern Highlands put online two more automatic teller machines (ATMs) last Friday.
The bank’s branch manager Reuben Elijah told a packed crowd that BSP was committed to providing efficient services to its customers.
The opening followed the one opened at the University of Goroka a day earlier.
He said Goroka would eventually have 13 ATM sites to serve the growing number of customers in the area.
“BSP is more than happy to open two ATMS at West Goroka to serve local customers and those from Lufa, Okapa, Henganofi, Kainantu and Obura-Wonenara areas,” Elijah said.
He thanked the management of New Century Supermarket for accepting the two machines into their premises.
Apart from making withdrawals using BSP Kundu cards, customers can also make cell phone credit top ups, buy Telikom “Xcess Rait” prepaid, transfer funds, check balances, change PIN and get mini-statements, according to Elijah.
He said customers with ANZ and Westpac banks can also use the ATMs to access their accounts, but will pay K2.50 for every transaction.
The new ATMs at the New Century Supermarket will operate during store hours.
Supermarket manager Avinesh Maharaj was given the honour to officially declare the ATM at their store open.
He was one of the first customers to use his Kundu card to withdraw cash.
The other customer who used the second ATM was Serah Wangi.
The locations of new ATMs in Goroka are at the University of Goroka, West Goroka, Bird of Paradise Hotel, Goroka Base Hospital, New Century Supermarket and provincial government building.
