Holy Spirit our best, closest friend, preacher tells congregation

THE Holy Spirit is our best and closest friend in our daily life, a preacher says.
Preacher Jackson Merpe shared the word of God in Acts 11:1-18 to the University of Papua New Guinea Lutheran students’ congregation last Sunday.
Merpe was talking on the importance of Holy Spirit’s work in individual’s life.
He said individuals only seek God’s help through the Holy Spirit in times of hardship.
“If we are close enough, we will be informed and be prepared for circumstances that come our way just like Peter saw a vision when praying in city of Joppa,” he said.
“It was the work of the Holy Spirit that Peter was informed and also the man who was told where
Peter was so he sent men to fetch him.
“Peter went and when he began to preach, the Holy Spirit came on them like flames as it reminds him what the Lord said; ‘John baptised with water, but you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit’.”
Merpe said when God called you, it was the Holy Spirit who would cause things to happen according to God’s will.
“In another story, the woman who was bleeding for 12 years, according to Luke 8:44, was convicted by the Holy Spirit to touch Jesus and she was healed immediately,” he said.
“It’s because of Holy Spirit she touch the right part or the source of power just like if you run out of fuel, you won’t check the wipers but the fuel tank.”
