Fix law, order issues in NCD

Letters

SO the NCD Governor Powes Parkop has come out saying that he is totally disgusted and ashamed at the violence that transpired after the Digicel Cup rugby grand final over the weekend.
According to reports, four females were stripped and sexually abused by opportunists at Boroko.
The Governor should be ashamed, totally ashamed.
He and his cash cow, NCDC continually turn a blind eye on the deteriorating law and order situation in the capital city while he continues on his merry yoga walks and grand standing in ground breaking ceremonies.
These incidents do not come as a surprise to many city residents. In fact it has become a norm at the many public and social events in the city.
What is he doing about the escalating law and order situation in the city?
Don’t blame the ‘people’s attitudes’ excuse again. That excuse has run its course governor and you are in office for a third term, ample time to address law and order in the city.
How much of your DSIP and NCDC’s budget is allocated to addressing law and order in the city?
Why are you not seriously partnering with the police, transport department and the likes to mitigate this alarming and disgraceful situation in the city?
Stop handing out gifts and presents to people and start putting law and order as a priority.
Governor you need to create an atmosphere and environment that allows all city residents to move around freely and do their daily chores without having to look over their shoulders every now and then. I note that when questions are raised to authorities through this medium, the executives of those well managed organisation’s are quick to reply through the same platform. Is the governor’s continual lack of response and inaction a reflection of his character and that of NCDC? Governor you have failed miserably in this aspect, totally.

  • Not only the Governor should be ashamed, he has an office, and all that work in that office are equally to be blamed as well, that office is there to help the Governor with information required for the governor to make decisions concern.
