Match officials lack experience

HAVING watched the Digicel Cup grand final – between Lae Snax Tigers and Hela Troton Wigman – on Sept 8, 2019 – I would like to express my discontentment to the referee. Obviously, it was noticed that the referee failed big time to penalise players.
For instance, when Snax Tigers players were attacking, the opponents should stand behind the referee.
This was not the case on Sunday as both teams were off-side several times when defending.
The referee failed big time. The PNGNRL management should replay the game’s footage and see what I am refereeing to.
The referee also failed to award penalties when a players was constantly held despite being tackled.
The tackled player – who should be allowed to play the ball – was constantly held up dragging the game’s momentum.
Penalty should be awarded but again the referee failed big time.
In the future, the PNGNRL should engage a NRL referee ot officiate at any Digicel Cup grand final.
This will bring fair refereeing with standard and quality.
Last weekend’s game was a typical example of PNG national referees taking control of the match, with errors not being detected.
