A rotarian against Malaria (RAM) vehicle distributing medicine and mosquito nets in Southern Highlands was allegedly stolen in Mendi, last Friday.
RAM project manager Tim Freeman said it would hinder their work.
Southern Highlands police commander Chief Insp Martin Lakari confirmed the reports of the stolen vehicle.
Police are still searching for the vehicle.
“No suspects known yet, investigations will continue,” Lakari said.
Freeman told The National that RAM had a joint programme with the Malaria Programme under the Department of Health which they coordinate the distribution of Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) to villages around the country every after three years.
“RAM was distributing mosquito nets to all the villages in Hela and Southern Highlands in January to May.
The vehicle was stolen last week, he said.
He said they visited many health centres by road and sea to make sure people could access medical drugs and materials.
