CUSTOMISED vehicle registration plates to recognise this year’s PNG Games have been approved for with the first 60 pairs of plates already bought by the PNG Games Council.
At the official handing of the plates to the NCD manager of social services and member of the host organising committee Kila Dick yesterday, he said the the plates would be used on official vehicles which have already been approved by the Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited and the Department of Transport.
The task of preparing the plates was undertaken by the Pacific Personalised Plates Ltd which produced 60 pairs for the official vehicles with another 940 would be sold to the public for their vehicles or as souvenirs.
Owner of Pacific Personalised Plates Jimmy Ngosei said that the company had been previously engaged to produce commemorative plates such as PNGs 25th anniversary in year 2000.
The plates are in limited stock and plate numbers from 061 to 999 will sell for K1,000 a pair.
