Police in ESP to be replaced

BORDER Command Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) John Kolopen has announced that police station commanders (PSC) and rural police station commanders (RPSC) in East Sepik will be changed as per the people’s request.
“We are changing these officers on the ground now and new ones who are young and vibrant will be positioned in those stations around the province,” Kolopen said. The move comes after people in the province claimed that most of those taking charge of the police outstations were unable to effectively deliver policing services.
“When these changes take effect starting next month, the onus will be on local people to work in partnership with police so that we can see effectiveness in the policing services to be carried out into communities,” he said.
