UPNG admin lets students down
Source:
The National, Friday 08th June 2012
THE recent rampage at the UPNG was instigated by students under the influence of alcohol.
Most of the students were unhappy with the UPNG administration for not addressing many of the issues they raised such as increasing school fees, catering services and the costant blackouts before the examinations.
SRC president Emma-nuel Isaac tried his best but to no avail.
If it was not for his leadership, I doubt the semester would have ended peacefully.
The administration should be blamed because it failed to respond to the situation.
It is unfortunate the vice-chancellor was away when the incident happened.
I call the administrators to verify and address the students’ complaints.
