Pala leads in Rigo

PEOPLE’s National Congress party candidate Ano Pala has taken a commanding lead in the Rigo open seat race with 3,967 votes after count 11 was completed at Kwikila Secondary School last night.
The sitting MP picked up 263 votes from the Gunugau to Deugolo area to increase his lead.
Meanwhile, businessman and People’s Labour party candidate Wala Gamu, from Galemarupu village, leap-frogged into second place when he collected 150 votes to increase his tally to 2,985.
Gamu out-placed lawyer and independent candidate Turai Elemi who dropped into third place with 2,325 after getting 864 votes.
National Alliance party candidate Peter Gutuma is in fourth place with 1,310 and Melanesian Alliance party candidate John Renagi Kwarara is in fifth place with 1,040.
Returning Officer Virgil Waisa said so far his team had completed counting from Rigo Central and Rigo Coast, and were now moving into Rigo Inland.
