THE Huon Gulf development authority is supporting the Evangelical Lutheran Malalo circuit with K74,000 in cash and two boats and motors.
MP Ross Seymour presented two new boats worth K27,000 each to ELC-Malalo circuit office and Gejamsao (women) and gave another K20,000 last Friday on behalf of the district development authority to the first Gejamsao Circuit conference hosted at Buakap village in Salamaua, Morobe.
The inaugural Gejamsao Circuit conference hosted by Kela, Asini and Buakap villages ended last Sunday.
Neighbours Busamang village will be the next hosts.
Seymour told the circuit to use the boats for their rightful purposes.
“The boats were long overdue,” he said.
“I made a commitment some years back and now I’m delivering it.
“Use the boats wisely, I don’t want to hear any complaints.
“Use the boat to serve all mothers within the circuit.
“Let’s work together to move the church forward.”
Malalo circuit president Rev Saking Tangali said they were delighted with the boats – their only mode of transportation.
Seymour also committed K300,000 for a Gejamsao Resource Centre, and support for micro, small and medium enterprises.
He said the circuit’s 10 parishes and five congregations would receive K20,000 each as contribution towards construction of resource centres.
