Woman drowns in lagoon

AN elderly woman has drowned in Kibili Lagoon, in Balimo, Western, provincial police commander Silva Sika says.
Sika urged villagers around the lagoon to stay away from it during strong winds.
Saekewata Saekewa, in her late 50s, was paddling home from Balimo Station to Saweta village on Sunday with her grandson when waves caused by strong winds pushed the grandmother overboard.
The woman’s body was found at midday on Monday.
