EAST New Britain Governor Leo Dion has blamed bad management as the cause of poor service delivery.
“It is unfortunate that lack of money and other resources like vehicles are often used as the excuse for lack of service delivery,” Governor Leo Dion said.
“It is not by default but by design that they are the most important people in the system of the government, tasked with the responsibility of ensuring services are delivered to the people.
“District administrators and LLG managers must be innovative in their outlook as effective managers and drivers of strategies for improved service delivery to the rural majority.
“This is achieved by maximising the benefit and impact to the people within the limits of resources available,” he said.
A conference, designed by the provincial government, will create a forum for LLG managers to be able to speak with senior executive management and provincial corporate teams.
The provincial administration’s organisational restructure has resulted in more staff being located at the districts and LLGs.
