We are the solution

THE government’s push for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is good but the people in PNG are natural agriculturists and if given the right tools and support, they can work the land.

Therefore, the governshould  embark on a programme to implement “sustainability in agriculture”.

The idea of “didimans” should be revived so that people are guided with whatever agricultural ac-tivities they engage in.

I am not sure if the National Development Bank (NDB) has allocated some money for agriculture and fisheries projects as it is natural for our people to engage in such activities.

This is better than sweating for businesses which we have limited ideas or resources to run.

Mining companies and other businesses should also give preference to PNG farmers before sourcing from overseas.
