MAPRIK town in East Sepik came alive last weekend as members of the Revival Centres International Church across the country converged in a national rally.

The gathering, staged at the main oval, attracted many observers.

There were 184 people baptised in full immersion and spoke in tongues and healing.

“It was indeed a miraculous event, we had baptisms, healing and praising God,” Wewak zone Pr Edward Gunigasa said.

“Those with other common illness, drugs and homebrew addicts and some with marital problems all went away happy after being thrilled by God’s word during the three-day event which ended on Sunday.”

Guest speaker, P David Manley from New Zealand, preached the Holy Spirit baptism and encouraged everyone to undergo baptism in order to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Manley spoke of the imminent return of Jesus and revealed God’s plan of salvation for mankind so that people received God’s promised Holy Spirit as a guarantee that they belonged to God.

The Revival Centres International Church was established after World War II in Australia by Pr Lloyd Longfield, who died last year.
