THE Morobe’s governor’s office has issued a public warning about forged application forms for the new Morobe Credit Guarantee Scheme being sold.

The office raised the alarm yesterday after learning that people were going around selling application forms for up to K300 apiece.

Three types of con artists were reportedly doing the rounds and the office said people needed

to be alert.

According to project coordinator Barnabas Yaulasi there were ordinary individuals on the street, a women’s group claiming to represent disadvantaged women and professionals

claiming to be consultants.

Yaulasi warned that those people were using the scheme to lure the innocent public and charge hefty fees

He said such tricks were demeaning and those caught would be dealt with by the law.

Yaulasi warned that those impersonating staff from the office of the governor should stop.
