Settlers eye main prize
The National, Friday October 11th, 2013
POPONDETTA soccer premier men’s aspirants, Settlers will not take the preliminary final lightly against the winner of Galea-North East on Sunday.
Minor premiers Settlers were edged out by arch rivals Oro United 1-0 in the major semi-final last week.
But they are determined to make amends against the winner of Galea and North East, who meet tomorrow.
On Sunday, the Settlers, with a wealth of potential talent, will not be an easy beat as their never-say-die attitude has seen them score unlikely wins.
Head coach Jonge Yaungere is confident the winner of Galea-North East will be under pressure to beat them.
In the women’s grade, hot favourites Kaks are in for a hard time against a reorganised Tarangau outfit who have hit form at the right time.
Last week Tarangau stopped Blue Kumuls 1-0 and Kaks went down to Goruta 2-1 in the major tussle.
Both sides are determined to cement second grand spot so they can meet Goruta in the final countdown next week.
