INTEROIL has provided two new teachers’ quarters at Kouderika Primary School in Central.

The United Church-run mission school had been set up by the Kouderika community because the nearest school was about an hour’s walk away at Porebada.

In 2012, the Department of Education approved the community’s request for a primary school in the village. The villagers contributed resources to build classrooms.

InterOil, under its Community Development Assistance Programme,  (CDAP), built the two new homes at a cost of K140,000.

InterOil’s assistance programme was established in 2002 and continues to help communities near its Napa Napa refinery facilities particularly Roku, Kouderika, Tatana and Baruni.
