PNG Rugby League chairman Sandis Tsaka last week announced the appointment of two officers who will head the roll-out of their six programmes.

Both officers have extensive experience in the game, and Tsaka and CEO Brad Tassell are optimistic that their engagement would assist greatly in helping achieve the objectives of the PNGRFL.

The national competition manager is Arnold Krewanty, a former Kumul who has continued to be involved with the game as a national selector and administrator.

The national development manager is Toksy Nema one of the leading coaches in the country who has also been involved in the administration of the game. Both men would be directly involved with the delivery of the PNGRFL’s six major programmes: 6 to 12 years (PNGRFL in collaboration with Australian NRL/AusAID programme); 13–18 years, schoolboys; 19–A grade; Digicel Cup; SP PNG Hunters; and, Kumuls and other international fixtures

Their engagement will drive PNGRL’s programmes, in line with its 2014 calendar to many parts of the country. Thirteen other development officers located at strategic parts of the country  have also been engaged and will work under the direction of Krewanty and Nema.

“Of course these two will work in close consultation with Tassell” Tsaka said.
