Accountants grateful to conference sponsor

A GROUP of certified practising accountants (CPA) in East New Britain have thanked private and government bodies who sponsored its annual conference in Kokopo recently.
CPA branch manager in New Guinea Islands Jeanette Otto said the annual conference was held there to help small-medium enterprises and micro small medium enterprise improve their accounting skills in terms of bookkeeping to meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) and Investment Promotion Authority before making any claims of return.
“An accountant who is not a CPA member and is unemployed will still need help from a CPA member to sign the returns to be lodged,” Otto said.
She said the conference was a success.
“It eventuated because private and public companies gave their support and assistance,” she said.
“Thanks to major sponsors like Bank South Pacific .
