FINANCE Secretary Dr Ken Ngangan says all government accounts are expected to close on Dec 9.
Accounts for the 2020 financial year will open on Jan 6.
“The cut-off date for the issue of any new Integrated Local Purchase Order Claim and for the corresponding entry of commitments to the Government’s Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) and PGAS accounting system is Dec 9,” he said.
Ngangan warned that no new 2019 ILPOCs or other commitments should be issued after Dec 9.
Similarly, no cheques will be issued from the IFMS or PGAS system for new commitments raised after Dec 9.
“All Integrated Local Purchase Order Claims requiring authority to pre-commit (APC) must be submitted not later than close of business Nov 20. In order to be paid in 2019, suppliers must submit invoices to the relevant departments no later than the close of business on Dec 9.
“Invoices and all queries concerning payment should be directed to the paying office of the relevant department. Under no circumstances should claims be submitted to the Department of Finance other than for goods or services provided to the Department of Finance.
“Payments for goods and services provided to Government that were covered by valid ILPOCs and APC will continue to be processed and paid up until 31 Dec 2019.
“All cheques must be presented for payment before 31 Dec. No 2019 cheques will be paid in 2020.”
