Acting commissioner appointed

GILIGILI (Alotau) prison commander Supt Vincent Kundi has been appointed acting Assistant Comm for Bougainville.
It is the first time Correctional Services (CS) has appointed an acting assistant commissioner in Bougainville.
CS Commissioner Stephen Pokanis said the appointment was done according to the Peace Agreement and Decentralisation Policy between the Bougainville and PNG governments.
The Department of Personnel Management approved the position based on changes made to the CS organisational structure.
“This year we made minor changes to our structure and have created the position of the assistant commissioner for Bougainville,” Pokanis said.
He issued a circular on the appointment, asking the department to support Kundi settle into his new role.
Kundi will be responsible for coordinating and working with the Bougainville government and the Bougainville CS Institute.
