Address landowner issues in city

Letters

I REFER to an article in The National in October regarding the compensation demand of Lae city land.
This is the first and the final message to the state authorities and agencies such as the Lands Department, land titles commission and the State Solicitor’s Office to come out clear and tell us the truth about who the traditional and legitimate landowners of Lae area.
The Government should conduct a research through the Land Act 1996 and improve their systems or we are going to blindly accept petitions from anyone who demands compensation over land.
I think that this is the right time for all leaders in Morobe and the Government to take a good look in to this issues of Lae’s land ownership.
