PORT Moresby AFL (POMAFL) is returning to its home at the Colts Oval after a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was given Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation approval three weeks ago to kick off its competition.
POMAFL’s executive committee met two weeks ago at the Colts Oval and opted for a short season to be run over the next two months.
It will, however, be a four-team competition comprising Koboni-Bombers (combined), Kokofas-Cats (combined), reigning premiers West Eagles and Dockers.
On, Saturday, POMAFL hosted a “fun day” at the Colts Oval to bolster interest from AFL followers and it turned out to be a success with a barbeque following the 12-a-side matches.
The competition kicks off tomorrow with Koboni-Bombers taking on Kokofas-Cats at 1pm.
This will be followed by the match of the round between West Eagles and Dockers (3pm).
“All AFL followers are invited to come and enjoy another day of entertaining football,” POMAFL said in a statement yesterday.
