Agarobe, Isoaimo, we need services

Letters

WHILE our good Governor Robert Agarobe and Kairuku MP Peter Isoaimo may be doing good things in other areas of Central, we the people of Kivori and Waima villages are missing out on many government infrastructure development projects for donkey years since independence.
Past elected members have come and gone giving us empty promises to fulfil their own agendas.
Since the last election, there have been absolutely no physical improvements in our rural feeder roads from the main Trans Highway. We have four main bridges connecting our villages.
One from Waima village and three from Kivori villages. These bridges were built by colonial administration prior to independence.
To this day as I write this article, there are no sights of these bridges in existence anymore. When time for rainy season, these road conditions become so deplorable that it takes days to get home if a vehicle got stuck on the way.
Our poor people only know what to expect – expect the unexpected.
Vehicles and PMVS coming from the city cannot continue the trip because of no bridges.
Passengers and the travelling public just have to walk long hours to get to their homes very weary and tired while PMVs turn around at the entrance of Waima village.
These scenarios are very similar to those people who leave in the remote parts of Morobe as captioned in your paper in recent times.
It would be a blessing to our people if Agarobe and Isoaimo would forego some of their precious time to visit our area to obtain first-hand information what I am grudging about.
Perhaps from such official visits, some government assistance may be provided.
As we have gone backwards by 44 years without any physical development, I am expressing my frustrations in the hope our good members can come to our aid to ease our predicaments.
It is understood the country is facing tough times, but at least some thought should be given as a priority to our silent majority who live in that part of Central.
