CENTRAL Governor Robert Agarobe says his government is looking at building a home stadium for the Dabaris at Bautama outside the National Capital District.
“We’ve already spoken with the board and management of the (Iarowari High) school,” he said.
“We want to use that as a training area for the Dabaris and the school field for their home ground.
“In the long run, we’re looking at building our main stadium at Bautama so these are some plans in place at the moment.
“Like everything else, we’ve got to go through the stages of negotiating with other parties so that we come to an amicable agreement before we go ahead.”
The temporary home venue for the Dabaris at Iarowari in Central’s Kairuku-Hiri should be finalised by mid-season in the Digicel Cup, the club management said.
Franchise manager Hubert Warupi said the management was in talks with the Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC) and PNG Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) to ensure that the venue was up to standard.
“We have planned for the field to be finalised by mid-season and that gives time for arrangements at all levels to be made,” he said.
