THE National Agriculture Research Institute (Nari) held its 13th Agricultural Innovations Show in Lae yesterday.
The Nari Show coincides with the Agriculture Minister’s Seminar and the commemoration of the Institutes 27th anniversary celebrations. Nelson Simbiken, director-general of Nari said the purpose of the show is to showcase innovations in agri-businesses.
“If we can use the innovative ideas and technologies then that is what the agricultural innovative show is all about,” Simbiken said.
He said that the inaugural agricultural seminar will be held to create dialogue about commercialising the PNG Agri-Food system.
“As a way forward, we want to establish dialogue, let’s talk, document, think together to plan our actions and deliver,” Simbiken said.
He said that the Agricultural Innovations Show held annually is not only to showcase but to generate policy information.
“We’d like to communicate to our politicians and we like to make this as a communication tool, so that our politicians can be well informed to make the right decisions,” said Simbiken.
