Business

THE AHI Investment Ltd has established catering services at the Lae main wharf to provide meals to PNG Ports employees and other workers.
The Coastal Retail Services Ltd is part of Ahi Investments and has a modern kitchen facility to prepare meals.
It can prepare and deliver meals to companies, families and cater for functions.
PNG Ports business manager Felix Baure and International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) human resource manager Randolph Calasin were impressed with the set-up. Baure said the eatery was conveniently located.
Calasin said it was significant to AIL’s expansion not only in business but relationship with PNG Ports, ICTSI and other companies.
“Human resources cannot excel without food,” Calasin said.
AIL chairman George Gware said the first clients were ICTSI and Coca-Cola Amatil. Others are PNG Ports Riback, United Stevedoring, Consort Express Lines and PNG Customs.
“It is an exciting opportunity to develop our seaport as a container loading and offloading terminal for imports and exports. The seaport is a community within a community with various opportunities in supporting services available like port tourism and jewellery shops, apart from catering that can modernise the face of the seaport environment,” Gware said.
