Air Niugini chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou wants Air Niugini to lift its game and provide customers the best service possible.
Since his appointment in June this year, Sir Kostas has visited several Air Niugini ports and sales offices outside Port Moresby, emphasising to
staff the need to take care of customers, staff and the communities in which the airline operates in.
“The operations of the airline is not behind a desk at Jackson Airport,” he said. “This is where the airline operates, this is where the customers are, this is where our staff are.
“To be successful, we need to be talking to our customers and talking to our staff who are talking to our customers.”
Last week, Sir Kostas was in Mt Hagen where he told staff that his board was serious about improving service and experience for the travelling public.
He said a plan was in place to ensure Air Niugini provided the best service to its customers.
“To do this, we will focus on domestic excellence,” he said.
“On-time departures and arrivals. Bags to the right destination and unloaded quickly so the customer doesn’t have to wait long.
“Faster check-in times. If you don’t have the tools to do your work and achieve the target then don’t be silent.”
