Air Niugini rewards staff for their contribution

Business

SIX Air Niugini staff were rewarded for contributing good ideas, including how to reduce fuel consumption, in June and July.
The airline’s smart ideas campaign is part of the airline’s higher altitude programme and suggestions centred around reduction of aircraft fuel consumption to tax exemption on tourist fares, sale of travel insurance and establishment of a Port Moresby-based IATA training facility. The winners received tablets, vouchers for meals and body massages as well as various Air Niugini merchandise.
The company aims to reduce costs, generate more revenue, build a stronger and happier workforce and better customer offerings.
It also ensures staff inclusiveness and helps them to think positively by contributing ideas.
Each month, staff from Air Niugini network, both domestic and international, submit ideas to a committee who then selects and awards those with the best ideas.
The winning ideas are passed onto department champions and programme officers who try to implement them.
All staff members are encouraged to contributing ideas.
